Museum of Costa Rican Art
2004
Description

In 2004 Jiménez Deredia designed a sculptural park for the Costarican Museum of Art in San Jose. The museum was the site of the former international airport of the country. For this project, the master Deredia studies an architectural space that evokes the memory of the old airport, placing two metal structures like the wings of an airplane, and at their center, a cosmic image of white marble in the shape of an arch aligned with the control tower. The space has been designed to exhibit the widest range of public sculptures.
