Description

In 1998, Jiménez Deredia completed a sculptural project in the Museo de los Niños of Costa Rica (Children’s Museum), ex-penitentiary of San José. The sculptor’s intervention focused on 3 fundamental elements that include: a) the positioning of 3 pre-Columbian original spheres, from the Costa Rican natives the “Boruca”, aligned with the Orion constellation. These spheres were placed at the main entrance of the building; b) the positioning of a horizontal Genesis of 5.70 meters in length that occupies the side area of ​​the garden c) the positioning of a cosmic image 8 meters high at the entrance of the museum auditorium.
